I went on a boat tour and the person driving the boat picked up a sea urchin and asked “does anyone want to hold it”? I said sure, so I held a sea urchin. That’s an accomplishment.

After that i went to Korčula and went to an aqua park which was really fun.

The next day we went to a beach and it was extremely hot but there was nice food.

Habitat

It lives across Europe but it is Croatia’s national animal.

The Kuna Zlatica lives on the national parks on the mainland and it also lives on Brač (the island) in the forests.

It likes to hang out in trees.

Diet

It is an omnivore that means it eats meat and plants. It hunts its food with its claws. Its claws are as sharp as diamond swords!

Squirrels	Rabbits	Small birds
Berries	Eggs	Insects

If I had to eat one thing from this menu it would be insects because I have had some in Thailand before and it tasted good.

Endangered status

It was quite endangered but now it is least concern. Because people used to hunt them to get their fur but now it is against the law.

What can we do to protect them?

• Don’t litter
• Don’t chop trees
• Be sensible

Fun facts!

1. Before the euro, Croatia had Kunas for money and now they still have one on the back of a 1 euro coin.
2. Kuna zlaticans can jump from tree to tree like squirrels. It is good so other predators can’t kill them.
3. Kuna zlaticans are the only mustelids (outher mustelids are otters and badgers and beavers) with semi-retractable claws to hunt.

We drove from Selva to Limone and at Limone we went to the markets. Jake made us buy fake Pokemon cards. After the markets we went to lunch, at lunch I had pizza and there was a great view of the lake.

The hotel had a great game room with Street Fighter and Star Wars.

Yesterday I went to Cortina to meet my family. I drove there in a car and it took more than an hour to get there.

When we first got there we met my 2 year old cousin Elia. We had fun playing together.

We first went to a bar, then we went to get lunch. We had pizza at a pizzeria, then it was time to say goodbye and we went back home.

I ordered the cinque torre pizza. It was delicious.

I liked it because we got to go up a mountain. Up the mountain we got snacks. I got apple strudel, mummy got cherry cake and daddy got beef soup. We also saw some sheep and snow. There was a great view.
