The Four Organs of the Duomo

The Duomo in Verona has not one but four pipe organs! Presented here in the order that you will find them if you are following their recommended direction for the tour.

Actually there is a fifth Opus electronic organ but I didn’t photo it because it’s kind of boring. Even though one of the organs I did photo turns out to have been replaced by an Opus.

Despite having paid €4 for entry, I could still not find anyone who would let me have a go.

1. Chiesa di Sant’Elena

The organ in the Chiesa di Sant'Elena

A small organ tucked away in the annexed church of Sant’Elena. Unfortunately, the Germans do not seem to have this organ in their online database and my blurry photo of the stop labels was a little incomplete, but here’s my nearest estimate.

This on sits on the right hand side of the main cathedral.

3. Chororgel (2007)

The Chororgel

I’m not convinced that the pipes in the photo are currently working - I think that they have been replaced with an Opus electronic organ with the specs below. Again, the Germans are not particularly clear on the subject.

4. Cornu Epistolae (1991)

The Cornu Epistolae organ

This one is on the left hand side of the church, facing the evangelii organ. Presumably so that the organists can have some kind of organ battle.
